Who is your Role Model???

Definitely, More to come!!!  I am still trying to synthesize all of the amazing people I have to look up to and pattern my life.  These ultimately direct my heart to be more like Christ in every way.  Their faith in the Almighty Sovereign Lord overcame all of their doubts as He increased all the more in their lives.  I look forward to sharing more on this topic, but it is late and I really should be getting to bed now; after I am done writing, surfing the net for randomness, and of course checking out the latest on You Tube!!!

I am So Glad God Made Friends

Posted in Friendship, Reflections for Fun on January 27, 2007 by schoolgirl777

So, funny story….

I went to meet up with my friend, Dolores, on Friday afternoon at the beach for a good run to end the week.  I hadn’t seen her since Christmas, so that was undoubtedly the best part.

Then, I was on my way back after fighting the Friday Traffic on the 8 Freeway ;0)~ and I saw my other good friend, Deanne, I sped up so I could say Hi, but she didn’t see me.  I immediately whipped out my cell phone and called her, no answer, I left a message.  She calls me back and I tell her that we were on the same freeway at the exact same time.  She was bummed that she didn’t see me.  We laughed, and went our separate ways.

I am so glad that God made friends for that among so many other reasons.  Life is good, but it is even better with friends because friends make life so much more fun.

People watching at Starbucks…

Posted in Reflections for Fun on January 18, 2007 by schoolgirl777

…is the Bomb!!!

I had forgotten how much I like to people watch at Starbucks on my hour long lunch break before professional development on Wednesdays.

While sipping my drink of choice, which happens to be the new “Cinnamon Dulce Latte”, and munching on my leftover cheese noodle casserole with a vegi burger mixed in, I listened to the soft tunes and observed all the goings on at this popular coffee shop today.

There were two ladies conversing like they were old friends, although I could not understand what they were saying; well, give me a break, it was another language and that language was not Spanish.  I thought about how much I cannot wait until I can communicate in another language.  It must be fun to have that common bond with someone.

An old Frank Sinatra song came on, and I noticed a group of  girls who were apparently college age collaborating about something.  I actually think they were in some way associated with Starbucks because I heard them talking about all of the nutrition facts on the back of certain products.

Darn it!!!  This reminds me that I have to start going to class next week as a grad student.  No, its not bad, but I really don’t like going to class.  Then, I am reminded again that I am almost done, in exactly three semesters I will have a Master’s degree.  Already, my motivation has increased.  Plus, it is what you learn in the process and how much I have drawn closer to God being at a public school.

With all that I have seen and experienced being in school this long, I realize that apart from Him nothing makes sense, yet people will do anything to deny Him so they won’t be held accountable for their actions.

I was thinking how much I love coffee shops, especially meeting up with good friends just to catch up and be together for a while as we sip the latest drink.  I was supposed to meet up with a friend, but she was busy running errands, so I just enjoyed this people watching date with my Savior as we listened to the soft favorites compliments of Starbucks Coffee Shop.

There were not many people who stayed today, most left due to their busy routine of life, as I had fun as usual on my lunch break, oh how I did not want it to end.

My thoughts turned to Coffee Bean, another spot I love, I think that is why I enjoy Thursday nights so much, a combination of missing meeting up with people and loving coffee shops.  Or, maybe it is the fact that we are studying the book of Hebrews at a coffee shop, no pun intended.  If you do not get it, well, maybe someday you will.  That makes it more fun, plus, I love the book of Hebrews, well, actually I love the whole Bible, but Hebrews rocks, and the fellowship with new friends from church is definitely a plus.

There were a few more people at Starbucks today, but I will stop with my recollections for now.  Life is good, I went back to work, then I went for a run and now I am back home and typing on my computer as usual, and if you have not yet figured it out, I love to write.  So, more later for sure!!!
