The Amazingness of God’s love

Posted in Reflections on Love on December 24, 2008 by schoolgirl777

The amazingness of God’s love overwhelms me

I cannot even contain it

It is too real to comprehend

I have been so anxious about many things

I have been so preoccupied

these things seem so petty indeed

these are things He will take care of

I so much need His embrace

His arms to wrap around me

His love to consume me

to the very core

of who I am

The amazingness of God’s love

overwhelms me

I cannot even contain

how much He loves me

even when I am

the most unlovable

even when I do not

love Him as I should

The amazingness of God’s love

is what I can cling to

is what I can remember

in moments like this

The amazingness of God’s love

allowed Him to send His only son to earth

as a baby

to live out life as we know it

yet without sin

to be beaten and bruised

and die upon the splintered cross

and then conquer death

to reign as the LORD over all the earth

The amazingness of God’s love

allows me to trust Him all the more

For His ways are higher wider and deeper

than I could ever imagine

The amazingness of God’s love

overwhelms my soul and makes me whole

once again!!!

Ephesians 3:16-19 “I pray that out of His glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and I pray that you being rooted and established in love, may have power together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know that love that surpasses knowledge that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”

Nevertheless, I Cling to you, my LORD!!!

Faith never knows where it is being led, but it knows and loves the ONE who is leading.

Love is when you miss him even before you part-when you could listen to him talk all night and never get tired of hearing his voice-when the sound of his name will send chills down your spine and you see his smile the second you close your eyes.

BUT, WHAT IS LOVE, REALLY???

No words can define it.

It is something so great

Only God could design it-

Wonder of wonders,

It boggles my mind

It racks my brain

What is love?

I think I am beginning to see

I think I am beginning to understand

but it will take a lifetime

day by day

nevertheless, LORD

I cling to you!!!

I hope

I hope it is you

my love

I hope it is you

through the years

the distance

I hope my love

for you

may be realized

I hope it is you

You are my desire

You are the one

I hope will come

around

no matter where we are

no matter what we do

You are the one

I hope and pray

it is true

You are the one

I hope

beyond

all hopes

to be in your arms

to be enraptured

by your love

I hope

You are the one

created

just for me!!!

(Dedicated to the Amazing Man of God who will be my future husband.  God is in the process of preparing us for each other.  No matter where we are, or how much time we are apart, nothing is too hard for God—He has given me my single years as a gift to love and serve him, to reach out and love those I teach and work with no matter how difficult they may be because they matter.  He has given me these years, so that HE can speak tenderly to my heart and love me the way only HE can.  When the time is right, HE will do what HE had planned in the relationship area of my life.  Praise be to Him no matter what, whether I am single as I am now, or in a relationship with the one my heart loves who will eventually be my future husband.)

Christ’s Love Compels Us

Posted in Reflections on Love on May 19, 2007 by schoolgirl777

For Christ’s Love compels us…to do much more than we could ever do on our own. His love compels us to love because it can be presumed you never really know the full measure of His love until you give it away to someone else.

His love compels us to dream. His love compels us to have faith and take risks. His love compels us to serve Him and glorify Him in the process. His love compels us to be vulnerable and share with others. His love compels us to love deeply and unconditionally. His love compels us to be more like Him. His love compels us to stand strong in the midst of adversity. His love compels us to submit our whole selves to Him and resist the devil who is a defeated foe. His love compels us to draw nearer to Him every minute of the day.

His love compels us because we are convinced that one died for all and we walk by faith not by sight. Because we live by faith and His love that compels us, we do not lose heart, rather we fix our eyes on what is unseen because what is seen is temporary. This is our eternal hope.

His love compels us to be effective ambassadors for Him every day of our lives as we are made new by the renewing of our minds. His love compels us to please Him in everything we do. His love compels us because He is in us and we are in Him.

When you look back, you may not be able to determine why you did certain things, but you can know that you did them according to the spontaneous nature of His love that compelled you to do it. Truly, His love compels us.

“If we are out of our mind, it is for the sake of God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. For Christ’s love compels us because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died and he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again (II Corinthians 5:13-15).”

Genuine Love…

Posted in Reflections on Love on March 5, 2007 by schoolgirl777

“Genuine Love is not some saccharine sentiment that disregards the truth and tolerates everything, therefore, love and truth must be maintained in perfect balance (John MacArthur, in “Twelve Ordinary Men”).”

True, the opposite of fear is faith, but the other opposite of equal importance is love, genuine love.  “But perfect love casts out all fears, because fear has to do with punishment.  The one who fears is not made perfect in love (I John 4:18).” Makes sense, because if you fear, you are not remembering the love that you need to have faith in, which is God’s pure, unadulterated, genuinely, intimate love for us!!!

This love is evident within the truths of God’s Word, and as we are loved, we need to love others in the same way.  Love does not mean being tolerant, as some may believe it to be, but it is being kind and compassionate to one other, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you (Ephesians 4:32).

God’s Love

God’s Love is Captivating

God’s Love is Authentic

God’s Love is Unconditional

God’s Love is Enthralling

I could fall deeper and deeper in Love with Him and Never quite understand the depths of His Love.  I know this is what keeps me Falling, Falling more deeply in Love with Him.

His Love comforts me

His Love is constant

His Love is who He is

His Love is what others will see in me, if i show it to them

His Love is deep, Oh so deep

His Love is infinite

His Love is incomprehensible

His Love, is higher, wider, deeper than I could ever imagine.  His Love is perfect as it drives out all fears.

His Love, Oh His Love, reaches out to me

His Love makes me want to be more like Him

As I write, I know I am only scratching the surface of this Love that delights in my very being.

This Love, Oh this Love, I need like water, like breath; it is my very life’s existence.

This Love gives me the patience and the peace that I need to wait on Him, for His timing.

He Loves me, so that I might Love another in the same way.  If only I could do this, I mean love the people in my life without condition???

If only I could reach into the depths of my being and love another the way God Loves me

Only with His Love can I do this, and I have His Love everyday, so everyday, I reach into the depths of my soul and strive to obey the first and greatest commandment.
